Liberty Diamonds was founded by David Lob, a diamond cutter originally from South Africa who began his career in gemology and diamond cutting at 19 years old. After becoming head foreman of the largest diamond cutting firm in America, David opened Liberty Diamonds in Irvine, California in 1982. He continues as the business owner and still cuts diamonds, preserving the hands-on tradition that defines the store.
His son, Troy Lob, G.G., is a GIA Graduate Gemologist with over 25 years of experience in the diamond and jewelry industry. Troy works directly with clients on custom jewelry design, diamond selection, and engagement rings, specializing in both natural and lab-grown diamonds.
Located in Irvine, Liberty Diamonds is one of the only retail jewelry stores in Orange County where customers can experience diamond cutting on-site and receive personalized service built on decades of expertise.
